Hungary: Telenor to provide services for Gysev
Telenor Magyarorszag Zrt., the second largest mobile phone operator in Hungary, won a contract from the joint Austrian-Hungarian railway company Gysev.
Slovakia: ZSSK cancels rail links
Slovak Railways ZSSK, which is currently the only rail passenger carrier in Slovakia, is preparing a major reduction in regional trains.
Poland: Nearly 120 million tons in 2010
PKP Cargo carried 9.2 million tons of freight in December last year and 119.4 million tons of cargo in the whole 2010. It is around 14% more than a year earlier.
Russia: Sapsan two hours delayed
Russian Railways (RZD) announced, that passengers of the high-speed Sapsan train, which was delayed by more than two hours, received a refund amounting 100% of the ticket price.
Germany, Poland: DB Schenker not interested in privatization of PKP Cargo
According to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily, DB Schenker will not participate in the sale of PKP Cargo. The German operator wants to focus on the current activities and to compete with the Polish company.
