Czech Republic: Railway Infrastructure Administration fined for selling toxic sleepers
TV Nova has informed that Railway Infrastructure Administration (Správa železniční dopravní cesty ) has been fined for selling used railway sleepers that contained hazardous substances. Although RIA has paid the fine it nevertheless defended itself indicating that buyers were perfectly aware of the risk.
Belarus: Train tickets available online
Belarusian railways will start selling train tickets via Internet. The system will be available only for holders of bank cards Belarusbank with the option “Internet banking”.
Germany: Train Drivers' strike in February
The German Train Drivers Union (GDL) made a decision to organize a strike in mid-February. The decision was made on 3 February during the meeting of the Train Drivers Union in Frankfurt (Main).
