The Slovakian transport minister Jan Figel changed the leadership of two state-owned railway companies ZSSK and ZSSK Cargo.
Serbia: Situation of employees of Serbian Railways to be cleared out
Milutin Mrkonjic, the Serbian minister of infrastructure, and Milovan Markovic, the general director of the state-owned Serbian Railways, signed an agreement with the representatives of four trade unions.
Slovenia: Transportation results of Slovenian Railways after 8 months
Between January and August 2010, Slovenian Railways generated a transport performance of 2.4 billion net-ton kilometers. It is 6% less than in 2008, which was a very good year for the operator.
Macedonia: Macedonian Railways is doing better
According to Oliver Derkoski, the president of Macedonian Railways, the first half of 2010 was financially much better for the company than the year 2009.
Poland: PESA to deliver trams to Czestochowa
The Polish rolling-stock producer PESA Bydgoszcz will deliver seven new trams to the city of Czestochowa.
Lithuania: Contract signed for Rail Baltica feasibility study
On the 28th of September, the state-owned Lithuanian Railways signed a contract for creation of a feasibility study for the Sestokai – Marijampole section of Rail Baltica line.
Slovakia: TMKH Vagonstroenie and Tatravagonka to establish a joint venture
TMKH Vagonstroenie, a part of Transmashholding, signed a memorandum on strategic partnership and foundation of a joint venture with the Slovakian rolling-stock manufacturer Tatravagonka.
Poland: Newag signed a contract with Opolskie province
On the 28th of September in the marshal office of Opolskie province, a contract was signed with the company Newag for delivery of two new Diesel Multiple Units.
Croatia, Czech Republic: TZV Gredelj signed a deal with Legios
The Croatian rolling-stock manufacturer TZV Gredelj signed a EUR 10m worth deal with the Czech company Legios, former Lostr.
Ukraine: Eight months results of Kryukov
The Ukrainian rolling-stock manufacturer Kryukov Car Building Works published its production results for the first eight months of this year.
Russia: RZD to increase its investments for 2011

The Czech private bus operator Student Agency got a new backup. Ales Ondruj, the former spokesman of the Czech Railways (CD) joined the team of the bus carrier.
Ukraine: Eight months results of Ukrzaliznytsia
In the first eight months of this year, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) transported 280 million tons of cargo, which is 13.3% more than in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Germany: World premiere of Velaro D
At InnoTrans fair in Berlin took place a world premiere of Velaro D, the new high-speed train of Deutsche Bahn produced by the company Siemens.
