Russia: High-speed trains to outrun planes?

According to Ros Business Consulting, high-speed rail line Moscow-St. Petersburg might be more attractive to passengers than the flight connection. The new line for high-speed trains is expected to be ready in 2018. It is also reported that it will cost 500 - 700 billion rubles. 70% of the project will be sponsored by the state, 30% by private investors.
