Germany, Poland, Czech Republic: Growth in cross-border transport
The demand for cross-border regional transport between Poland and the Czech Republic increased significantly in 2009.
DB Regio generated average growth rates of almost 15% in regional transport via Bad Schandau and Zittau. The Elbe–Labe–Sprinter Dresden Decin line was used by around 71,000 passengers (+36.5%). Since the RE 100 Dresden-Wroclaw went into operation in March 2009, passenger figures tripled to 40,300 compared to around 12,000 passengers (2008).
