Russia: RZD averdaily shipments up by 17.2% in January 2010
Average daily shipments onthe Russian railways network totaled 2.827 million tons in January 2010, which is 17.2% as much as in the same period of 2009.
RZD brought more oil cargo (+1.5% against the plan), iron ore (+2.4%), fertilizers (+6.8%) and containerized cargo (+21%). Under the investment budget, which is approved by the RF Government and Russian Railways, the investments are estimated at 270.5 billion rubles in 2010, including the Olympic Games projects in Sochi – 71.8 billion rubles.
