Estonia: Estonian Railways demands EEK 500m from the state
Estonian Railways is claiming EEK 500m from the state. The case started four years ago before Estonia bought back 66% of the company and re-nationalised it.
In December, the minister of justice Rein Lang notified the government that the dispute between a state enterprise and the state was a nonsense and waste of public resources. According to Lang, the dispute should have been settled after the Republic of Estonia became the sole owner of the company, Baltic Business News reports.
Legal expenses already cost Estonian Railways EEK 1.4m and the state EEK 742,521.
