Austria: Construction on Semmering tunnel to start in 2012?
Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB announced, that construction on the Semmering railway tunnel can begin already in 2012 or in 2013 and should finish by 2023.
The estimated cost of Semmering tunnel’s construction is EUR 2.8 billion. The town of Semmering is a ski resort in the Lower Austria state.
